Band's own Statement: “Our last try working together with an extern Studio Producer, before we decided to construct the Boom Room- Studio and produce our Releases ourselves years later. The Connection with Producer Dave Hambach came up via Ex- Deadly Sin- Singer Ross Thompson (Van Canto) who became a close friend of us after a common Gig with his previous Band Deadly Sin in Jan. 2005 to benefit the Victims of the Tsunami- Disasters. After our Debut- Album “Virushuman” was finished, the first following year felt like it could become a big thing. Because with “Virushuman” we got more Attention than ever before: 13/ 15 Points in Legacy- Mag., 10/ 12 Points in Heavy- Mag., 8/ 10 Points in Legion Mag., Klasma- Zine, Carnage- Zine, dozens of Reviews & Interviews in online- Fanzines and even a detailed Interview on the local Radio spoke for itself. Appropriately we left a couple of remarkable Release- Gigs and got enough Live- Propositions for a first short tour in April 2006. First time ever Distributions and Consulting- Agencies got interested in Trapjaw.
Sounds like the ideal Position for a young Band to be discovered by a label but we learned from the past years especially in realistic Self- Perception and now, looking back many things could have gone better. For Example the Sound- Quality is perceived very differently among the Metal- Community. Some People like it, because it sounds really old- school, mastered with a lot of high and low- frequencies and not so much mids as it is done nowadays, to others the Album- Sound is not heavy enough. It has to be said, that in case of Guitars, we didn't work with a tube- amp on this Record and all other Equipment wasn't the best as well, except for Bass and Vocals. The Bass- sound on this record is an absolutely unique Phenomenon, right after the one on “Terror Divine” maybe the best and audible Bass- Sound we ever had. Problems we had more in things like lead- Guitars, because in case of Sound and Performance the time was too short for experiments, and in case of the entire Album Sound. We travelled sporadically from our Hometown to Westwood Studio in Paderborn whenever time allowed it. Meanwhile Producer Dave Hambach took care about other Projects in his Studio, so the Plan to got a common sound of the particular Songs on the whole Album didn't work. You can realize some variances, for example between “Deus Absconditus” and “Blooddawn in Kadath”. All in all too many circumstances made a first real professional record, as we have done years later with “Terror Divine” nearly impossible. Yet “Virushuman” was an important milestone in our musical development and stills enjoys an enormous sympathy among our fans.
