Band's own Statement: "During the “To die...”- era we surpassed the more “thrashy” Trademarks of our former Band- mates and finally desired to move creatively towards an own Style. If you compare the “Crawling Chaos”- Releases with the “To die...”-Demo you'll realize a change especially within the atmosphere. The music became dominated by more brutal and sinister parts; appropriate to this development Vocalist Marek renounced of the former Thrash- Shouting and modified his Vocal- Style to a more inhuman Voice, which was interpreted by some actors among the metal– community as a Result of his Black Metal- Preferences and who claimed the Band would turn their whole Music to a more Black Metal- influenced Style. But in our opinion there has never been such a Contradiction, because we never tend to think too categorically. The extreme Metal- Styles like Thrash/ Death/ Black Metal have common roots, which one can (maybe) locate historically, somewhen in the mid- 80ies, when Bands appeared who developed alternatively to Those who enjoyed most Popularity at this period. For example you can realize Bands like Morbid Angel, Blasphemy or Death were more brutal, faster and more occult than Slayer or Metallica, or in Europe Bands like Sodom, Bathory or Mayhem performed uglier and more sinister Music than Kreator, Destruction or Venom (next to this one of our influences were more unknown polish Bands like KAT or Turbo). It's this short period of break- up in which bands appeared who desired more, but the styles didn't differ so much as they do today which drives and inspires us even nowadays. Make yourself free of those categories many people tend to think in today and you will understand the musical universe of Trapjaw much better. Our musical Understanding and Development was approved by many positive reviews and interviews in Underground- Zines like Klasma(GER), Carnage (GER) or Terrorraiser (UKR) and even more popular Metal- Mags like Legacy (GER). All of them shared our own opinion to move towards the best direction, for a Band like us.
The Band's development had another side as well: Former Drummer Majo left the Band after he realized his lack of Skills and his incapacity to play accurately to a Metronome blocked and harmed the Band's ambitious development and decided to leave Trapjaw. So Producer Dahmen filled the hole by performing Session Drums for the Songs on “Devoured...”while we were looking at the same time for a new Drummer among our home- scene and finally (after checking out a lot of candidates) found the young Drummer Maxx. As the Band- history shows he's been the right choice and the ideal man for the Job! After the relation to Dahmen developed into more and more negative directions (especially the way we felt being treated socially) we looked out for other studios and got in Contact with Andreas Hilbert (Golem) and the Soundforge Studio. Here Maxx could make his first Studio- Experiences when we recorded “World Depraved” together; we added this record to the “Crawling Chaos”- Tracklist and re- released the whole Demo- CD with completely remastered Sound entitled “(Re-) Devoured by the crawling Chaos”."
